This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee with hybrid flexibility. Candidate will provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.\nResponsibilities\nProvide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.\n\nMust be able to do pipe stress analysis.\n\nFamiliarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.\n\nWorks with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.\n\nRequires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.\n\nRequires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.\n\nMust be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.\n\nRequirements\nEducation & Years of Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited University/College and 10+ years of relevant experience.\n\nCitizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.\n\nMust have a good understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.\n\nExperience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.\n\nExperience performing pipe stress analysis.\n\nExperience performing field walkdowns.\n\nDesired Skills\nExperience with AutoPipe is a plus but not required.\n\nExperience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.\n\nAbout the Site\nThe NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
