This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the installation, startup, and operation of new machining centers and existing machining production equipment.\n\nProvide engineering support for configuration management activities, technical documentation, work packages, and other required paperwork.\n\nPerform equipment troubleshooting, technical evaluations, and improvement activities to resolve production and reliability issues.\n\nSupport preventive and corrective maintenance activities for machining systems and associated equipment.\n\nApply mechanical, electrical, and equipment expertise to diagnose and resolve complex system and equipment issues.\n\nCoordinate technical solutions with engineering, production, maintenance, operations, and other supporting disciplines.\n\nEvaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications or improvements to enhance reliability, maintainability, and production capability.\n\nSupport engineering activities in accordance with Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance requirements.\n\nEnsure work is performed in accordance with applicable nuclear facility requirements, procedures, safety standards, and configuration controls.\n\nProvide hands-on engineering support within an active machining and production environment.\n\nRequirements\nEducation & Years of Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school and 5+ years of relevant experience.\n\nCitizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance - To be considered, you must have an active or very recently active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance.\n\nDemonstrated machining or machine tool experience required.\n\nExperience supporting machining centers, manufacturing equipment, or production operations.\n\nStrong experience with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and system improvements.\n\nKnowledge of configuration management and engineering documentation processes.\n\nExperience in a DOE- or NRC-regulated environment preferred.\n\nUnderstanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance within a nuclear environment.\n\nStrong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, management, and craft personnel.\n\nAbility and willingness to work in an active industrial/manufacturing production environment.\n\nDesired Skills\nExperience with mechanical and electrical systems and equipment preferred.\n\nKnowledge of Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principles is a plus.\n\nAbout the Site\nThe NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
