The role includes analyzing and modifying existing software as well as creating new software and designing, constructing and testing end-user applications that meet user needs - all through software programming languages.\nGenea is an engineering company at heart. Software engineer needs to combine computer science principles with innovative thinking to solve daily software development tasks. Transparency and teamwork and dedication are essential qualities of a software engineer.\nWhat You'll Do\nWrite and test product or system development code.\nDesign and implement video streaming and video processing services necessary to support new and existing features.\nDesign metrics that capture the streaming experience and system performance.\nParticipate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.\nReview code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).\nMaintain a pulse on emerging technologies and discover hidden opportunities in our environment.\nEnsure redundancy and resilience of Genea production infrastructure.\n What We Look For\nA scrappy, entrepreneurial attitude that gets high-quality projects done quickly.\nExpert in at least one general-purpose programming language. Node.JS, Python, Rust, or C/C++.\nREST API development hands on experience.\nKnowledge of multiple streaming protocols (RTMP, RTSP, RTP, HLS, WebRTC, DASH, etc.) and codecs (AAC, Opus, H264, H265, VP8, VP9, AV1, etc.).\nHighly proficient in database design, with both relational and NoSQL databases.\nComfortable working with AWS, Linux, Docker, continuous deployment workflow, multiple programming languages tech stack.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nSelf-directed, analytical, and work well in a team environment.\nPassionate about the Genea product.\nExperience with multiple multimedia libraries and frameworks: FFmpeg, GStreamer, libvpx, x264, x265, etc. is a plus.\nExperience on building video pipeline with AI inference for computer vision is a plus.\n\nCompetencies:\nDiversity - Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences;
