The role will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to assist in the collection and analysis of process data, brainstorming innovative solutions, and supporting the design and implementation of improvements.\nThis internship position is located inHillsboro, on-site.\nThe Opportunity\nActively participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to help the team implement solutions that eliminate root cause contributing to performance challenges. \nAttend daily cross functional meetings to support Quality Control teams to deliver on daily plans related to product testing, environmental testing, maintenance, and validation of equipment and methods. \nAssist in the design, collection, and analysis of process data to enable improved understanding of QC capacity and performance. \nSupport developing tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.\nParticipate in mapping Quality Control processes and workflows to map processes, identify waste and improvement opportunities. \nSupport 5S and Lean initiatives in the laboratory including improving tools leveraged at daily huddles, material flow, and simplified processes. \nProgram Highlights\n Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.\n Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).\nA stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.\nOwnership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.\nWork with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.\nWho You Are (Required)\nRequired Education: You meet one of the following criteria:\nMust be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).\nMust have attained a Bachelor's Degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a graduate program).\nMust be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).\nMust have attained a Master's Degree. (recent graduates).\nMust be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).\nMust have attained a PhD. (recent graduates).\nRequired Majors: Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.\nRequired Skills\nExperience in Process Development, Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical Services.\nStrong ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to identify trends and inefficiencies. \nStrong problem solving mindset and demonstrated capability to solve problems leveraging a systematic approach with data. \nDemonstrated understanding of project management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document findings, present data, and collaborate with team members. \nPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.\nComplements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.\nUnderstanding of Lean, Agile, or Toyota Production System is preferred. \nKnowledge of cGMPs or equivalent regulations in a laboratory environment is a plus. \nExperience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry is a plus. \nRelocation benefits are not available for this job posting.\nThe expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $25.00-$52.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
