This is a valuable opportunity to develop your skills and grow alongside experienced mentors.\nAbout the Internship Program\nGenerac’s Internship Program is full-time (40 hours per week) from May/June to August, 2027. The program will be on-site at Generac’s Waukesha, WI (headquarters.)\nGenerac’s Intern position is responsible to work with other engineers to fulfill special requests related to the digital solutions used in our manufacturing process. Under supervision of engineers, the intern will have the opportunity to create manufacturing applications, Power BI reports, OPC-UA based machine connections, API connections, and dashboards. Participants develop technical skills through challenging assignments and usage of technical tools.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nArea of focus is MES app building and documentation, data analytics, and other duties as assigned.\n\nSupport the design, validation, and documentation of new digital solutions into the manufacturing process.\n\nProvides new solution development support in the Industrial and Residential production sites including creating scopes of work, technical documentation and training materials.\n\nSupporting change requests to current digital solutions (scope of work, project plan, cost); Interfacing with internal company personnel; provide technical support for assigned projects.\n\nInterface with IT data team for data lake refinement\n\nCreate and modify Power Bi dashboards\n\nIntegrate systems utilizing APIs\n\nTravels to other Generac facilities as necessary\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a BS degree in computer science, data science, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.\n\nUnderstanding or working knowledge of discrete manufacturing workflows\n\nExposure to MES, ERP, supply chain systems, or industrial data platforms\n\nExperience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries\n\nExperience preparing analytical summaries and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nDemonstrated understanding of data pipeline concepts including ingestion, transformation, storage, and analysis\n\nProficiency in data analysis and scripting languages such as Python, R, Julia, or similar languages\n\nMicrosoft Office experience (including Excel).\n\nProficient oral and written communication and able to write clearly and succinctly to get a message across.\n\nAbility to work FULL-TIME during the Summer - 40 Hour Week; Potential For Work Over Breaks\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCompletion of Junior Year\n\nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
