Conducts continuous improvement activities to reduce the potential for product defects. Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development and execution. Ensure that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.\nThis position will be located onsite in Whitewater, WI. This is a first shift position working a 4 Day 10hr schedule\nResponsibilities:\nSetup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures\nPerform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations\nUse various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices\nAccurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements\nAssists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications\nFollow guidelines for bill of materials\nSupport manufacturing through troubleshooting activities; Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment\nPrepare formal and informal test reports\nAssist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs\nMinimum Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma\n5 Years of relevant work experience \nPreferred Qualifications:\nUL, CSA, ASE certification.\nISO training.\nProficiency in welding, shaping sheet metal, mill or turning.\nExperience managing projects or participating in project teams.\nExperience using specialized equipment such as engine dynamometers.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAble to work non-standard or extended work hours when necessary.\nIntermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.\nManage and participate in projects.\nInterpret blueprint and electrical schematics.\nDemonstrate self-motivation.\nLead and complete projects within guidelines.\nWork effectively in a fast-pace, team environment.\nCommunicate effectively through written and oral means.\nDemonstrate aptitude to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.\nUnderstand and apply advanced electrical techniques and theories.\nDemonstrate testing competence as required per ISO 17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations.\nDemonstrate understanding of quality concepts, continuous improvement, statistical techniques and preventative/corrective actions.\nProvide own basic set of tools.\nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
