We are a full-service distributor of Generac equipment and solutions providing sales, service and rentals.\nPrimary Purpose\nThe Generator Technician Master is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support for Generac industrial products. This role will mentor, train, and assist in the development of all technicians. This position will require up to 50% travel.\nMajor Responsibilities\nPerform technical skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of generators \nProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends and holidays as directed \nPerform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs of generators \nRead and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, universal generator literature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/or repairs \nDetect faulty operations, defective material and report them and any other unusual situations to the service manager in a timely manner \nCreate reports for all work performed in FieldServio. \nStay current on National Fire Protection Association and State regulations for Emergency Power Supply Systems. \nAssist operations department with personal scheduling and other technician scheduling \nSupport special engineering project for new sales and project management \nPerform quality assurance and quality control \nAssist in training Industrial and MPS technicians on proper start up techniques \nMentor technicians to the highest standard, providing the example to follow in all situations \nProvide phone support for team members during and after normal business hours \nMinimum Job Requirements\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma \nCertification / License\nGenerac Master Certification or equivalent \nWork Experience\n8 years in advanced troubleshooting of Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) \nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nWorking knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams \nAdvanced knowledge of Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas fuel systems. \nKnowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, and heating products \nWorking knowledge of diesel or gaseous engines \nExcellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision. \nWorking knowledge of transfer switch operations \nSpark Ignited knowledge \nAbility to obtain and maintain Generac certification in the air-cooled and protector series courses \nAbility to work and communicate well with others \nAbility to provide detailed reports within 24 hours \nAbility to manage and respond to emails, texts, and phone calls in a safe and timely manner \nExcellent conflict resolution skills \nAble to observe, identify and relay critical information to the company, customers, or coworker \nPreferred Job Requirements\nEducation\nAssociate's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering \nCertification / License\nN/A \nWork Experience\n10 - 15 years in advanced troubleshooting of Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) \nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nN/A \nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\nProduction Environment (Includes professionals who are active on the shop floor) (For Field Technicians): \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, crouch, bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment, including seasonal variations in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or byproducts. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies. The employee must be able to work in varying weather conditions including extreme heat, snow, and ice. The employee may be required to obtain a DOT Medical Card and have the ability to drive a heavy-duty truck on a daily basis.
