Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. Required to achieve company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.\nResponsibilities:\nMaterial Handler I\nFollow established procedures, processes, or policies.\nOperate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility.\nDeveloping a good knowledge of the company and may be assigned to projects for career development.\nLearning the principles, practices, and processes in the function or discipline.\nDeveloping the business knowledge required for the full job.\nMay resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity.\nFollows defined procedures and practices.\nContacts are typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization.\nFlex across different products and areas to support business needs.\nPerform forklift daily inspections.\nAccepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments.\nParticipate in team meetings and exchange job related information.\nDemonstrates attention to detail, attendance, and quality.\nPerform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function.\nPractice safe working habits, following safety guidelines to operation and support of company initiatives.\nKnow the basic functions of the ERP system.\nMay assist in training of new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.\nActively understands and participates with the Drive to Zero program.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMaterial Handler II\nMaterial Handler I responsibilities.\nUse judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions.\nMay participate in project teams or lead portions of projects.\nHas a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields.\nProvides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.\nContacts are typically with the supervisor and other members of the team or immediate organization but may be outside of this to complete the assignment. May represent the team on projects and interface with business partners. Impacts of errors normally have implications requiring additional resources.\nContributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put, and cost.\nMaterial Handler III\nMaterial Handler I & II responsibilities\nAbility to cross-train in different areas of need.\nFlex across different products and areas to support business needs.\nProvide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.\nProficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system.\nUses initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.\nSuggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.\nRequirements:\nMaterial Handler I\nAbility to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.\nAbility to identify and resolve basic problems.\nAbility to effectively work in a team environment.\nModels positive and professional work ethics.\nEffective communication skills.\nMaterial Handler II\nMaterial Handler I requirements\nMust be effectively cross trained in multiple operations.\nAbility to use advanced troubleshooting within the materials environment.\nAbility to train other employees in established processes.\nProblem solving skills and interfacing with other departments.\nStrong communication skills.\nMaterial Handler III\nMaterial Handler I & II requirements.\n2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and forklift certified. \nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
