This engineer will be responsible for creating and monitoring the validation plan for these products. This person is expected to drive component and system level testing to evaluate design robustness and reliability. This role will be responsible for evaluating equipment failure modes and utilizing engineering experience and training to develop solutions for eliminating potential failures.\nMajor Responsibilities\nDrive cross functional teams to achieve Generac’s high product performance and reliability standards.\nEvaluate equipment failure modes and utilize engineering experience and training to develop solutions for eliminating/mitigating potential failure \nAdvise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations\nReview engineering specifications/drawings and propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements\nMonitor equipment performance and evaluate equipment history and failure trends to determine sources of poor component performance\nPartner with other manufacturing locations to develop Reliability Best Practices and to collaboratively work through common issues.\nGain a deep understanding of the operating environment and performance requirements for our products.\nCreate detailed reports documenting all findings and conclusions.\nSupport root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing and on returned products\nEducation\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.\nWork Experience\n2 years of Reliability Engineering Experience\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nKnowledge and experience testing electrical and mechanical systems for reliability.\nExperience with reliability fail modes and fail mechanisms with respect to reliability.\nVery good understanding of relevant test standards.\nAbility to apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve products, services, and processes.\nAbility to solve complex engineering problems.\nStatistical analysis knowledge to assess reliability risk based on design and application.\nExcellent oral and written communication.\nStrong decision-making skills.\nPreferred Job Requirements\n Master’s degree in Engineering\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
