This enterprise leadership role will set and execute the corporate development strategy across mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and emerging growth opportunities, while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board.\nBeyond leading complex transactions, this executive will continue to strengthen and evolve the Corporate Development function, bringing greater rigor, scalable processes, and strong cross-functional partnership across Generac’s global, multi-segment organization.\nMajor Responsibilities\nStrategy & Enterprise Leadership:\nPartner with executive leadership to define and prioritize enterprise-level corporate development strategy aligned with Generac’s long-term growth and value creation objectives \nServe as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team on inorganic growth, strategic alternatives, strategic investment and portfolio optimization alternatives \nBe a leader of the Corporate Development function; enhancing processes, driving governance, building cross-functional relationships \nM&A and Investment Execution:\nLead end-to-end transaction execution including target identification, valuation, diligence, negotiation, structuring, and closing \nDevelop investment theses, strategic rationales, and scenario-based recommendations for complex transactions \nOversee integration strategy and execution in partnership with business leaders, finance, legal, compliance, and operations-driving value realization in a highly matrixed environment \nEvaluate and execute divestitures and strategic exits as part of broader portfolio management \nIdentify and execute strategic minority and venture investments and structured investments (public and private) \nMaintain strong, established relationships across the investment bank, private equity and industrial eco-system \nRepresent Generac externally in M&A discussions and negotiations with credibility and discipline \nPartner closely with legal, compliance, and finance teams to assess and manage financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risk across the transaction lifecycle \nTeam Development & Culture:\nBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing corporate development team with clear roles, accountability, and succession planning \nMaintain and enhance existing M&A processes, analytical rigor, and bring best practice tools to support enterprise-level execution \nLead with an enterprise mindset in a purpose-driven, values-based organization \nStrategic Planning:\nSupport enterprise strategic planning process by serving as a business group resource to support strategy planning \nSupport business group level staff to act as a “consultant” to improve efficiency of process and final output \nResponsible for continuously improving processes and tool sets to allow for business group consistency & success as well as supporting Enterprise Level strategic objectives and their communication strategy \nMinimum Job Requirements\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree \nCertification / License\nWork Experience\nTen years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, including evaluation and diligence of acquisition targets, due diligence and integration. \nFifteen years’ experience working in a corporate/business development, business strategy, investment banking or consulting environment. \nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nAbility to effectively operate across a highly matrixed enterprise with multiple business presidents and core function leaders. \nStrong quantitative skill set with experience leading and teaching financial modeling including general financial analysis \nProven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. \nDemonstrated communication skills, including higher level, well organized and persuasive corporate presentations, and group facilitation abilities. \nDeep knowledge of transaction documentation \nAbility to organize, prioritize and execute multiple projects at the same time \nCapable of deep strategic thinking with very strong quantitative and qualitative analytic abilities and creative problem-solving skills. \nStrong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. \nStrong knowledge and use of AI in day-to-day processes \nPreferred Job Requirements\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree with concentration in finance, accounting, economics, or business. \nMaster of Business Administration \nCertification / License\nWork Experience\nPrevious investment banking experience. \nValid Driver’s License and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time both domestically and internationally \nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
