The candidate with previous Systems Engineering experience or technical project engineering experience will focus on supporting the U.S. Navy Ford-class Aircraft Launch and Recovery (ALRE) carrier programs. This team member is responsible for evaluating changes needed to the U.S. Navy ALRE baselines for modernization or enhancements in reliability and/or robustness and presenting those changes in the form of an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP). This team member is responsible for the transition of an ECP from development phase to implementation phase within the GA-EMS functional engineering organization. Also, this team member will assist in troubleshooting efforts to assist the fleet with operations/restoration of operations.\nWith limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude for initiating, developing, and analyzing designs, procedures, techniques and leading teams for systems engineering solutions to resolving technical engineering problems. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of broad objectives, possible results anticipated, and critical reference points requiring special attention. The qualified candidate will guide the successful resolution of engineering problems, serving as a consulting resource of engineering knowledge, applies the appropriate technological advancements to the problem, and may function in a project leadership role.\nDocuments findings, communicates results to engineering, program office, and/or customer, makes technical presentations, and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects. Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvide technical analyses and judgement, using a systems engineering approach, for the development, fabrication, testing, and integration of new or existing systems within GA-EMS. \nCoordinate and interface with customers, contractors, and engineering groups assigned to projects. \nAssist with developing program plans, estimates, and schedules. \nAbility to generate systems engineering labor hours, materials, and travel estimates for proposal input.\nAbility to perform system analysis, develop system designs, and generate system, sub-system, and component-level requirements to organize into specification documents using systems engineering software tools.. \nSupport the development of test plans and manage the integration, verification and validation of systems through qualification testing. \nDevelops innovative but practical solutions to advanced technical problems in engineering.\nProvides focal point for technical communication within the Company management and may represent the Company as the prime technical contact to customers and/or government regulatory agencies.\nPresents report(s) at engineering meetings, participates in program reviews and consults on problems.\nProvides expert guidance and consulting to other staff members working on difficult engineering problems.\nAnticipates future engineering needs and the modifications required to accomplish a technical goal.\nAddresses complex and difficult technical issues requiring novel and highly creative approaches drawing on advanced engineering concepts.\nMay assume technical and engineering responsibility of the success of a project.\nPlans, coordinates, contributes to, or authors engineering documentation, including reporting, releasing, and/or presenting technical content.\nDevelop technical materials and present at customer design reviews.\nDirects activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\nMaintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
