Coordinates day to day activities of the production process, including personnel supervision, work assignments, and coordination of the product flow through the production phase. Requires complete familiarity with and understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job. Interprets and executes policies and procedures and recommends modifications to operating policies.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupervises assemblers and technicians in various locations through all phases of production in accordance with established schedules.\nOffers guidance and coaching to manufacturing personnel.\nOversees the design and building of tooling needed for the production process.\nExamines defective equipment to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for repairs.\nAssists test department with expeditious turnaround of repairs as required.\nAssists engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues.\nInterfaces with planning personnel in the generation of process flows, as well as with quality assurance personnel.\nAnalyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.\nMonitors usage and supply of all production materials and tooling; reorders when necessary.\nInterfaces with production control to help prevent material and equipment shortages.\nFormulates and recommends plans, policies, procedures and schedules for the section.\nSeeks methods to improve product quality, repeatability and efficiency.\nSchedules and coordinates work assignments. Ensures accurate time charging. Inspects work in progress and finished products.\nRecommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.\nSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the departments.\nImplements configuration changes in the product and supports field upgrades and operations.\nMay interface with outside vendors and sales representatives to stay current on new products and services.\nMay interface with customers to answer questions relating to the product.\nParticipates in hiring, promoting, and training subordinate employees.\nAssigns, directs and reviews their work.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the
