GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Space System Engineering Manager working on satellite systems to join our team located in Englewood, CO.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis position typically reports to a senior technical manager and is responsible for the planning, managing and technical performance of one or more significant engineering unit(s). \nDirects all phases of assigned engineering project(s) from inception through completion. \nResponsibilities may require the integration of multiple disciplines and departments. \nCollaborates with technical staff, program managers and/or Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the unit(s). \nMay also contribute to the development of annual and long-term objectives for the Division/Group. Objectives are typically accomplished through subordinate engineering managers. \nMay be responsible for decisions that have an extended impact on outcomes where erroneous decisions could result in critical delays and modifications to projects. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct all activities for engineering project(s) including planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained. \nDevelop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, and business objectives for the space system engineering team.\nEnsure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by directing and participating in the planning, selection, retention, and development of staff as well as the selection, training and implementation of engineering tools.\nLead mission, system and operational concept development for satellite missions for the space segments\nOversee and participate in the system level design of space systems across all phases of projects, requirement analysis, sensitivity analysis, mission analysis, and design trade-offs.\nOversee and participate in the system level design of small satellites for bid and proposals, product development and satellite operations.\nLead and apply system engineering principles to the selection and design of subsystems and components.\nApply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve engineering problems.\nIdentify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions.\nPrepare technical responses to bids, presentation materials and reports, for a variety of applications and customers.\nContribute to the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).\nLiaise with customer and supplier staff, and staff from other parts of GA.\nParticipate in technology roadmap development.\nParticipate with Group management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the space systems.\nOversee the development of and ensure the security of the unit's proprietary technology, and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nPerform others duties as assigned or required.\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of
