We delivery Tactical Communication Information Systems (CIS) to Land Forces around the world through Vehicle Prime Contractors for fighting and support vehicles. The hardware, software and systems integration that our engineers deliver on a daily basis ensure soldiers are never alone, and always aware. From headquarters to vehicles to the individual soldier, your work helps them accomplish their mission, while keeping them safe.\nWe are looking for a Software Developer co-op to join our International TacCIS cross-disciplinary team delivering CIS solutions for armoured vehicles programs for European NATO nations.\nIn this role you can expect to:\nPerform some design, analysis and test functions under the mentorship of more senior engineers.\nDocument analyses, designs and tests (e.g., tech notes, sections of requirements specifications, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates with the supervision of a more experienced engineer.\nImplement software routines to meet software requirements.\nMaintain code base in accordance with coding standards.\nSome development and performance of integration test and debug of implementations.\nSome development and performance of design verification test under the supervision of more senior engineers.\nInvestigate system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses;\nProvide technical support during high-level integration and qualification testing.\nProvide technical support to internal customers.\nPerform developmental configuration management activities.\nPresent work at design reviews or other types of peer reviews.\n What You Need to Have to Succeed\nCurrently pursuing a University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Software Engineer, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.\nExperience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred\nWhat Makes You Stand Out\nIt would be excellent if the candidate had a combination of the following qualities, but we will work with them to grow in these areas:\nAbility to work effectively with minimum supervision and in a collaborative team environment.\nEnthusiastic contributor, willing to learn new skills and take on ownership of work.\nSound communication skills and excellent collaboration skills.\nGood presentation skills, preparing and presenting.\nSolid problem solving skills with a willingness to develop a shared understanding of the problem with others.\nExperience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models.\nIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date.
