The position establishes and maintains configuration-management documentation, controls authorized changes and release artifacts, and ensures the integrity, security, availability, performance, and traceability of mission-critical application build and release environments.\nThe Configuration Management and Release Engineering Specialist supports the full software development lifecycle by developing application components, interfaces, reports, modules, technical documentation, automated build and deployment tools, and continuous integration/continuous delivery capabilities. The role collaborates with development, quality assurance, database, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and program-management teams to improve release quality, productivity, compliance, and successful production delivery.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nERB Responsibilities\nCoordinate and facilitate Engineering Review Board (ERB) meetings, including agendas, technical documentation, and meeting minutes.\nReview engineering change proposals for technical accuracy, completeness, architecture compliance, cybersecurity, interoperability, and configuration-control requirements.\nCoordinate with technical stakeholders to assess change impacts, track action items, and ensure required documentation is updated following ERB decisions.\nCCB Responsibilities\nManage and facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to evaluate and approve changes to baselined systems.\nReview, validate, and prioritize Request for Change (RFC) submissions in ServiceNow.\nEnsure changes are categorized, risk-assessed, and documented prior to CCB review.\nMaintain configuration baselines and ensure all approved changes are properly reflected in program documentation.\nCoordinate with functional teams to ensure changes are implemented as approved.\nTrack CCB decisions, approvals, rejections, and change status in ServiceNow.\nITSM Duties\nMaintain and improve CMDB accuracy, including configuration-item discovery, relationships, and resolution of discrepancies or configuration drift.\nDevelop and maintain configuration-management plans, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.\nGenerate ERB, CCB, and ITSM metrics and status reports using ServiceNow dashboards and reporting tools.\nEstablish, maintain, and improve configuration-management plans, procedures, standards, baselines, repositories, change records, and technical artifacts.\nManage authorized configuration changes, build artifacts, source-code baselines, version-control practices, and deployment records.\nCoordinate change-control activities, including Engineering Review Boards, Change Control Boards, release-readiness reviews, and approval workflows.\nProvide technical guidance to technical teams on configuration-management methods, documentation requirements, version control, and artifact traceability.\nDevelop, maintain, and support application components, modules, reports, interfaces, and support technical documentation for enterprise applications.\nTroubleshoot and resolve integration, deployment, configuration issues in coordination with technical teams.\nEnsure artifacts, configuration files, and related deliverables are complete, validated, version-controlled, and approved before production release.\nSupport software assurance, cybersecurity, vulnerability remediation, configuration compliance, audit preparation, and documentation requirements.\nCollaborate with Development, Quality Assurance, Database, Network, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Program Management personnel to resolve dependencies and support integrated execution.\nDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, implementation plans, rollback plans, release notes, deployment checklists, and after-action documentation.\nWHAT YOU WILL NEED:\nMinimum 5+ years of ITSM Change and Configuration Management experience.\nHands-on experience with ServiceNow Change, CMDB, and Configuration modules\nFamiliarity with ITIL frameworks, especially Change & Configuration processes.\nExperience supporting ERB/CCB or similar governance bodies\nStrong technical understanding of enterprise networks, systems, applications, and architectures.\nExcellent communication, coordination, facilitation, and documentation skills.\nExperience maintaining configuration management data and artifact repositories.\nExperience coordinating daily interactions face-to-face, TEAMS, and weekly scheduled meetings with the Technical and Development teams.\nRequired clearance: Active/current DoW Secret clearance. \nWHAT GDIT CAN OFFER:\n401K with company match\nComprehensive health and wellness packages\nInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career\nProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications\nCutting-edge technology you can learn from and apply to solve real world problems\nRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays.\nThe likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
