This multifaceted program spans 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring, advanced threat intelligence, forensics, incident response, cloud and network security engineering, zero trust modernization, vulnerability assessment, and enterprise-wide risk and compliance activities. The Cyber Risk Management Analyst will support teams at the forefront of national security, supporting sophisticated cyber operations that defend vital systems, enable secure mission execution, and counter rapidly evolving threats. You will find this work uniquely impactful, fast-paced, and deeply collaborative, offering the opportunity to lead high performing technical teams, shape CBP’s cybersecurity strategy, and contribute directly to the protection of the nation.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\nThe Cyber Risk Management Analyst plays a critical role in strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity posture by assessing risks, evaluating security controls, and supporting enterprise-wide governance efforts. Operating within a mission-driven environment, this analyst provides meaningful insights that inform leadership decisions, drive remediation activities, and enhance overall cyber resilience. You will:\nContribute to applying risk frameworks, assessing potential threats, and preparing clear, actionable risk documentation for stakeholder awareness.\nReview system security plans, policies, and control implementations for adherence to NIST-aligned frameworks (e.g., RMF, CSF).\nAssess the sufficiency of existing security controls and recommend appropriate remediation or mitigation strategies.\nContribute to compliance activities, audit preparations, and documentation packages.\nDevelop high-quality risk statements, findings summaries, and decision-support materials for technical and non-technical audiences.\nMonitor remediation progress, validate closure artifacts, and verify control improvements as part of the risk mitigation lifecycle.\nAssist with the creation and refinement of risk registers, dashboards, and other reporting tools that provide leadership situational awareness.\nCollaborate with program teams, system owners, ISSOs, and engineering groups to gather evidence, clarify risk drivers, and support timely resolution.\nHelp standardize risk methodologies and documentation practices across projects.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nMinimum of three (3) years in cybersecurity or risk management.\nUnderstanding of NIST frameworks and security control assessments.\nSolid analytical and writing skills.\nStrong understanding of NIST frameworks and security control assessment concepts.\nDemonstrated analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and articulate risk clearly.\nExcellent writing and communication skills for developing professional risk documentation.\nAbility to work collaboratively across diverse technical and operational teams.\nStrong organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.\nFamiliarity with IT system lifecycle processes, cybersecurity environments, or federal IT delivery.\nPreferred certifications:CompTIA Security+\nCertified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)\nNIST RMF Practitioner (various providers)\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related field preferred.\nPrevious or Current CBP Background Investigation desired.\nOWN YOUR OPPORTUNITY\nExplore a career in cyber security at GDIT and you’ll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your passion for securing the mission.\nThe likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $117,875.
