You will play a crucial role in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting F5 load balancing and traffic management systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical applications and services. This role will involve working with network and systems teams to optimize application delivery and implement solutions to support USCENTCOM’s infrastructure and mission requirements.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nConfigure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP systems, including Load Balancers, Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), and SSL offloading configurations.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve F5-related performance and availability issues, ensuring minimal service disruptions.\n\nCollaborate with network, systems, and security teams to integrate F5 solutions into the broader network and infrastructure environment.\n\nDesign and implement traffic management rules, including global server load balancing (GSLB) and local server load balancing (LSLB).\n\nManage F5 configurations for SSL/TLS offloading, including key and certificate management for secure communication.\n\nMonitor F5 systems for health and performance, providing proactive recommendations for optimization.\n\nConfigure and maintain F5 iRules to manage application traffic and provide enhanced functionality for specific use cases.\n\nEnsure compliance with security policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements in the deployment and maintenance of F5 systems.\n\nSupport incident response and root cause analysis for any F5-related issues impacting critical applications or services.\n\nDevelop and maintain documentation for F5 configurations, change management, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.\n\nProvide technical support and guidance to other IT teams and end-users regarding F5 traffic management solutions.\n\nAssist in performing F5 system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure continued system functionality.\n\nCollaborate with vendors to resolve hardware or software-related issues and escalate problems when necessary.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED :\nBring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The F5 Technician/Systems Administrator must have:\nCertification: Applicable DoW 8140 or DoW 8570 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security + CE)\n\nExperience: 5+ years of related F5 Systems Administration experience. Role requirements:\nAssist in the design and implementation of new F5 solutions to improve application delivery, scalability, and security.\n\nParticipate in capacity planning for F5 devices and the overall infrastructure to meet growing demand and service requirements.\n\nContinuously evaluate and recommend enhancements to optimize the performance, security, and availability of applications.\n\nDevelop and conduct training sessions for staff on F5 best practices and configuration management.\n\nTechnical skills:\nMust have hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP systems, including Load Balancers, ADCs, and SSL offloading.\n\nKnowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SSL/TLS.\n\nExperience with F5 iRules and traffic management policies for application delivery.\n\nProficiency in configuring and managing F5 systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot complex F5 issues, including performance, connectivity, and security problems.\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring and reporting tools for F5 system performance (e.g., F5 Analytics).\n\nStrong understanding of application delivery, load balancing, and optimization techniques.\n\nExcellent documentation skills for creating and maintaining configuration guides, troubleshooting steps, and change management records.\n\nDesired Skills:\nF5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)\n\nF5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS)\n\nITIL 4 Foundation Certification\n\nExperience working with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission and operations.\n\nExperience with F5 integration in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.\n\nFamiliarity with automation and orchestration tools for F5 management (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).\n\nExperience with DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and security mechanisms in the context of F5 load balancing.\n\nAbility to work with multiple teams to design and implement end-to-end application delivery solutions.\n\nRequired Security clearance level: current/active TS/SCI clearance is required\n\nUS citizenship required due to the TS/SCI clearance requirement\n\nMust be able to work on site at MacDill AFB.
