Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.\nThe United States Marine Corps Business Operations Support Services (MCBOSS) program delivers enterprise-level cloud services and automated infrastructure capabilities in support of the broader mission of the Navy’s Program Executive Office for Digital (PEO Digital). PEO Digital provides comprehensive planning, analysis, engineering, testing, and operational support as it delivers modern digital capabilities to the United States Department of the Navy. Within this mission, the Engineering function plays a key role in enabling the effective acquisition, development, and sustainment of cloud-based solutions that meet mission objectives and support warfighter operations.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\nAs a FinOps Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design, optimize, and manage cloud and automation capabilities that enable reliable, secure, and cost-efficient mission systems. You will help ensure these environments operate effectively at scale and continue to meet evolving operational requirements. Duties supporting the MCBOSS FinOps mission include but are not limited to:\nManage and administer Cloudability (Apptio) or other FedRAMP-authorized FinOps SaaS platforms to monitor, allocate, and optimize USMC cloud spend.\nIntegrate, configure, and sustain FinOps tooling, including tagging strategies, data ingestion, governance policy development, and troubleshooting.\nProvide Cloud Brokerage support by transitioning FinOps accounts, data, and capabilities across contract vehicles with no service disruption.\nDevelop cloud financial visibility through reporting, forecasting, anomaly detection, rightsizing analysis, and cost-optimization recommendations.\nSupport cloud account lifecycle operations, including automation of account bootstrapping using AWS Account Vending Machine and implementation of service control/tagging policies.\nSupport application and cloud environment assessments for industry best practices, providing optimization recommendations and transition planning.\nCollaborate with CSPs to validate billing and invoicing, maintain compliance, and identify opportunities for financial efficiency.\nContribute to broader PEO Digital initiatives by providing engineering integration assistance.\nDevelop and evolve training and documentation related to FinOps practices, cloud optimization, and cost-management strategies for business continuity.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nBring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The FinOps Cloud Engineer must have:\nSecurity Clearance Level: Active Secret clearance required.\nRequired Experience: 8+ years of Cloud related experience\n5 years of technical experience in support of Cloud based applications or infrastructure projects. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.\nHands-on experience with FinOps practices, including cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or financial governance for cloud environments.\nAbility to interpret and apply technical, financial, and operational data in decision-making.\nStrong understanding of cost-optimization principles within cloud environments.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.\n Required Certification: Qualifying certification to meet DoW IAT level II.
