Description:\nFires Systems Engineer\nGDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Fires Systems Engineer to support our Worldwide Field Support contract in Ottawa, Canada.\nMeaningful work & impact:\nInstall, configure, test, and maintain AFATDS operating systems, application software, and system management tools.\nInitialize, configure, and troubleshoot software interfaces\nManage and monitor all installed systems, networks, and infrastructure for optimal performance.\nEnsure high availability, reliability, and resilience of system and network infrastructure.\nMonitor and evaluate application performance, identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and collaborate with developers to implement fixes.\nMaintain system security, backup procedures, and redundancy strategies.\nParticipate in the design and enhancement of information and operational support systems as required.\nPrepare weekly and bi-weekly technical and operational reports.\nProvide over-the-shoulder training and mentorship to artillery operators.\nAssist Canadian Army Artillery units in planning and executing simulated and live-fire unit/formation-level exercises.\nApply advanced knowledge of AFATDS hardware, components, and operational procedures.\nAssist the Joint Fires Modernization Project Management Office with system acceptance, technical systems testing, management of interdependent systems interfaces of in-service and future systems, and on-site and remote support of field units implementing AFATDS\nWhat you'll need to succeed:\nBA/BS degree.\nMinimum 3 years of relevant experience.\nActive Secret Clearance.\nCompTIA Security+ CE certification.\nValid U.S. Passport with at least 2 years remaining.\nPrior military experience is highly desirable.\nWindows 10 (or later) system administration.\nWindows Server 2012 (or later) administration.\nBasic networking fundamentals.\nVMware vSphere Version 6.5.\nExpert-level knowledge of This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
