In this role, you'll be at the forefront of geospatial and intelligence system evolution - leading integration efforts, shaping architectural solutions, and mentoring technical teams.\nAs a Senior Geospatial Systems Software Engineer, you will lead the design and integration of advanced geospatial and intelligence platforms. Your work will translate operational and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and forward-looking architectures that align with Army modernization and convergence efforts.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nArchitect, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade GIS applications and solutions.\nProvide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle - from requirements gathering and system design to implementation and delivery.\nGuide teams in Agile/Scrum environments, supporting DevSecOps best practices and CI/CD workflows.\nOversee containerization strategies and deployment pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.\nLead system integration efforts with geospatial databases (PostGIS/PostgreSQL), services (ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, GeoServer), and COTS tools (ENVI, RemoteView, Erdas Imagine, Skyline).\nDesign and implement advanced geospatial data pipelines including acquisition, processing, and transformation at scale.\nEnsure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and implement robust access control strategies.\nLead the implementation of automated Static Code Analysis and Container Scanning within the CI/CD pipeline and drive the remediation of vulnerabilities to ensure spatial microservices and data layers are hardened and audit ready.\nArchitect and implement secure, interoperable geospatial services utilizing OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS, WCS, and OGC API - Features) to ensure seamless data exchange across multi-domain DoW and Intelligence Community platforms. \nSupport AI/ML model integration by developing data frameworks, model benchmarks, and performance metrics.\nConduct and lead peer reviews, QA/QC evaluations, code validation, and database design sessions.\nAct as a technical liaison with stakeholders, translating mission requirements into scalable geospatial solutions.\nMentor junior and mid-level developers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.\nStay current on emerging geospatial, AI, and cloud technologies to influence strategic decisions.\nRequired Qualifications:\nProven leadership in developing and managing enterprise GIS solutions in secure environments.\nAdvanced experience with Python, JavaScript, C++, HTML, SQL, and C#.\nDeep expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, GeoServer, and PostGIS/PostgreSQL.\nStrong understanding of RMF compliance, cybersecurity practices, and access management.\nSignificant experience with DevSecOps, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift), and CI/CD pipelines.\nExpertise in architecting secure geospatial solutions that adhere to STIG compliance and enterprise security benchmarks.\nExpert-level knowledge of OGC standards and their implementation within enterprise service-oriented architectures and cloud-native environments.\nDemonstrated ability to lead Agile teams and mentor other engineers.\nFamiliarity with AI/ML integration and geospatial data science is highly desirable.\nLocation: Springfield, VA.
