Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\nAs a Network Engineer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of client.\nAnalyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.\nPerforms Radio Frequency site surveys, analyze network performance, configure access points/controllers, and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Key requirements include expertise in 802.11 standards, Cisco/Aruba or Bastille hardware.\nPlans, designs, and deploys network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless devices).\nHas strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP), VLANs, DNS, and OSI models.\nUnderstand Risk Management Frame process to support IA team with Authority To Operate activities.\nPerforms maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Be well versed in a multi-vendor environment for layer 2/3 switching and routingprotocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, etc.), Network management solutions, as well as virtual and cloud-hosted networking technologies.\nInstalls, configures, and maintains entire physical networking Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) infrastructure. Oversee the WIDS implementation, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and system/ network administration activities. \nOperations & Maintenance to include system administration, information assurance, and storage management to all WIDS architectures.Analyzing network performance, resolving, and providing Tier-2/Tier-3 support for network and WIDS incidents.\nMaintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability. \nMust utilize network monitoring applications for traffic, access, and performance of entire network. Ensuring network reliability through continuous monitoring, proactive maintenance, and system upgrades.\nCreates and updates technical documentation for network configuration, topology, and mapping.\nProvide recommendations related to understanding operating system dependencies, physical and virtual server environments, integration with infrastructure resources (e.g. storage and networking), and how to configure operating systems and applications in an efficient manner.\nCoordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. \nEvaluates new network solution, capabilities, and technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. \nSubject matter expert to escalate all IT issues to leadership.\nParticipates in special projects as required.\n WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nBring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
