At GDIT you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and play a meaningful part in improving how agencies operate!\nA Network Engineer SR provides the technical expertise to modernize network design and implementation supporting multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. The Network Engineer SR will be the technical resource supporting the survey and implementation efforts and will work closely with the base's counterparts and facilitate the planning, execution, testing and sustainment of the wired functionality of the network.\nHOW A NETWORK ENGINEER SR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:\nResponsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio frequency, and/or data communications networks\n\nCollaborates directly with GDIT team leads and AF client on planning and procedures\n\nTroubleshoot issues, resolves local network issues and provide knowledge support to other technicians as necessary\n\nParticipates in network software upgrades, moderations tasks and installs\n\nUpdates technical documentation; maintains and implements SOPs for local networks\n\nWorks after-hours and weekends during maintenance windows on-site as needed\n\nManage the operational changes to configurations of network devices, subnets, and IP address allocation for both LAN and WAN\n\nSupport development of Network services SOPs and knowledge management articles\n\nPerform patching and upgrade of network device operating systems and configurations.\n\nSupport testing of patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.\n\nMaintain configurations on network devices to include routers, switches, servers, and appliances.\n\nSupport architects in design, development, and testing network changes.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nEducation: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (additional years of experience in lieu of degree can be considered)\n\nRequired Experience: 5+ years of related experience\n\nFamiliarity with network design documents such as - Site Survey Reports, Preliminary and Critical Design documentation, As-built diagrams, rack elevations and circuit connectivity matrices\n\nThorough understanding of Wired and general IT functions\n\nAbility to work effectively in a virtual teaming environment.\n\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, documents and governmental regulations\n\nStrong commitment to a team environment and the ability to work collaboratively\n\nThorough understanding of Wireless, and RF Networking IT Functions\n\nExperience using MS Visio or related CAD tools\n\nStrong coordination and organizational skills\n\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\n\nSecurity Clearance Level: Secret\n\nRequired Certification: Security + CE or DoD 8140 equivalent\n\nLocation: Onsite-Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson\n\nUS Citizenship Required\n\nGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:\n401K with company match\n\nComprehensive health and wellness packages\n\nInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career\n\nProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications\n\nCutting-edge technology you can learn from\n\nRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays\n\n#GDITpriority #BIM\nThe likely salary range for this position is $124,950 - $169,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
