Join GDIT as a Platform Engineering Team Lead and build an impactful career in enterprise IT, collaborating with people who are driven and resourceful like you.\nLead the Platform Engineering team responsible for end-user platform engineering, image management, endpoint protection, software distribution, and desktop/mobile operating system engineering. You will set technical direction, manage platform roadmaps, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable end-user computing services across the federal customer’s environment.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\nAs a Platform Engineering Team Lead, the work you do at GDIT directly supports the mission by ensuring secure, stable, and high-performing end-user computing platforms across thousands of devices and applications. You will drive modernization, automation, image lifecycle management, secure baseline development, and endpoint protection improvements, enhancing performance, reducing incidents, and improving user experience.\nLead the team responsible for desktop/mobile OS engineering, image management, endpoint protection, software distribution, and unified endpoint management.\nPartner with security teams, engineering teams, OEM vendors, application owners, and customer stakeholders to resolve complex issues, plan upgrades, and maintain compliance.\nGuide platform modernization, secure baseline development, automation, and lifecycle management activities.\nADDITIONAL ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES\nPlatform Engineering & OS Baseline Management\nDevelop and maintain desktop and mobile OS baselines.\nCreate Group Policies, Modern Policies, scripts, and technical documentation.\nDefine OS, application, encryption, security, and image requirements.\nBuild and maintain Core Images and profiles across multiple device models and OS versions.\nSupport OS lifecycle management, quarterly updates, testing, and validation.\nSoftware Packaging & Distribution\nScript, package, and test applications for Windows and macOS.\nManage deployment tools and self-service portals.\nSupport offline deployment methods when needed.\nEndpoint Protection Engineering\nEngineer, deploy, and troubleshoot endpoint protection agents (e.g., McAfee, Carbon Black).\nEnsure central management consoles and modules function properly.\nSupport SOC workflows, log collection, and malware containment.\nImage Engineering & Management\nDevelop test and release plans for image validation.\nCoordinate customer application testing and image approval.\nMaintain offline OS media and support remote build processes.\nPlatform Break-Fix & Tier 3 Support\nProvide Tier 3 support for escalated desktop/mobile issues.\nTroubleshoot OS, application, and patching issues alongside customer teams.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4 additional years of applicable experience.\nRequired Experience\n5+ years diverse IT experience in:\nMicrosoft Intune\nWindows 11 + Modern Policies\nVirtual Desktop environments\nMS Defender for Endpoint\nMicrosoft 365 applications\nCrowdStrike EDR\nEnd-user device engineering/support\nWindows Server, desktop apps, Wintel hardware\nCloud technologies and SaaS solutions\nEnd-user platform management tools\nPreferred: experience in a managed services IT environment\nRequired Technical Skills\nExpertise in OS engineering, image engineering, Group/Modern Policies, secure baselines (including DISA STIGs), and endpoint protection.\nProficiency in endpoint privilege management.\nStrong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell preferred).\nLocation\nOn Customer Site - Arlington, VA\nU.S. Citizenship Required\nGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:\n401K with company match\nComprehensive health and wellness packages\nInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career\nProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications\nCutting-edge technology you can learn from\nRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays\nThe likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229.
