We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VDI/ End User Computing (EUC) Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role will be responsible for the engineering, deployment, maintenance, optimization, security, and troubleshooting of enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in desktop virtualization, Windows Systems administration, image management, endpoint security, automation, and enterprise infrastructure services.\nThis position requires an individual who is passionate about technology, continuously explores new solutions, and proactively drives improvements across the EUC ecosystem. The engineer will play a key role in maintaining secure, compliant, and highly available virtual desktop environments while supporting modernization and automation initiatives.\nHOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT\nVDI Engineering & Administration\nDesign, deploy, upgrade, and maintain enterprise VDI environments.\n\nManage and support virtual desktop infrastructure platforms and related technologies.\n\nTroubleshoot complex performance, connectivity, authentication, and user experience issues.\n\nPerform capacity planning, performance tuning, and environment optimization.\n\nSupport VDI infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.\n\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.\n\nGolden Image Management\nBuild, maintain, and optimize Windows golden images for VDI environments.\n\nUtilize HashiCorp Packer to automate image creation, maintenance, testing, and deployment processes.\n\nImplement image versioning, standardization, and lifecycle management practices.\n\nValidate application compatibility and operating system configurations before production releases.\n\nAutomate image deployment and maintenance processes where possible.\n\nSecurity, Compliance & Hardening\nImplement and maintain STIGs and security baselines.\n\nPerform operating system hardening and vulnerability remediation activities.\n\nEnsure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.\n\nPartner with cybersecurity teams to address findings from vulnerability scans and audits.\n\nSupport patch management and endpoint security initiatives.\n\nMonitoring & Operations\nUtilize monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.\n\nAnalyze performance metrics, logs, alerts\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nEducation: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science\nRequired Experience: 8+ years of related experience\nHands-on experience with:\nVMware Horizon\n\nWyse Management Suite\n\nLiquidware\n\nStrong knowledge of Windows Desktop operating systems and desktop lifecycle management\n\nExperience with profile management technologies and application virtualization\n\nKnowledge of network concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, and Load Balancing\n\nExperience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n\nKnowledge of EUC security best practices and Zero Trust Architecture.\n\nExperience with automation and DevOps practices.\n\nRequired Technical Skills: Security+, AD, Endpoint Management, Performance Tuning, Capacity planning, Automation& Security,\nSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCI\nRequired Skills and Abilities: Communication, troubleshooting\nPreferred Skills: VCP\nLocation: On Customer Site\nUS Citizenship Required GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:\n401K with company match\nComprehensive health and wellness packages\nInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career\nProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications\nCutting-edge technology you can learn from\nRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays\nThe likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250.
