Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nSeeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of technical experience to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.\nDuties and Responsibilities \nDevelop new and modify existing electronics in the form of PCB designs\nAnalyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including analog signal conditioning and communication interfaces\nIntegrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware\nDevelop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems\nPerform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies\nGenerate design and interface documentation\nDesign cable assemblies\nDevelop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nExperience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases\nWorking knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS\nExperience in analog and digital circuit design\nExperience with lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers\nProficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture or Mentor Graphics Xpedition experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc. \nStrong documentation and communication skills\nExperience with firmware or microcontrollers a plus\nExperience with VHDL/Verilog a plus\nOur Commitment to You:\nAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.\nResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s security\nFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)\nCompetitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and more\nSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits\nWorkplace Options:\nThis position is 100% on-site.While on-site, you will be a part of the Manassas, VA location.\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
