Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a talented and highly motivated Reverse Engineer to join our innovative and dynamic team. As a Chief Reverse Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing software and hardware systems to understand their design and functionality and then identify potential cyber security vulnerabilities and exploitable weaknesses. Your work will be essential in continuous improvement identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring system integrity, and contributing to the development of secure solutions. The Chief Reverse Engineer will report to the CTO for GDMS’ Space, Cyber and Intelligence business.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAnalyze and deconstruct software applications and hardware networking systems to understand their structure, functionality, and behavior for both normal and abnormal operating conditions.\nAnalyzes, decomposes, disassembles code, performs static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debugs and modifies software\nIdentify potential vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for mitigation.\nDevelop tools and scripts to automate reverse engineering tasks.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and security analysis.\nInvolved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof-of-concept capabilities\nConducts vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques\nPerforms analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems\nContributes to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations\nDocument findings and create detailed technical reports and briefings\nMentor more junior engineers to be able to understand the mindset adversaries take when attempting to exploit a system and how to design mitigation techniques to employ with a goal toward growing a stronger Cyber Security workforce\nPreferred Skills and Experiences:\nProven experience in reverse engineering, software analysis, and vulnerability assessment\nStrong understanding of operating systems, networking protocols, and hardware architectures\nProficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Python, or Assembly\nExperience in low-level programming for Unix, Linux, or Windows environments\nExperience with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, and Radare2\nExperience with embedded systems and firmware analysis.\nKnowledge of cryptographic principles and security protocols.\nRelevant certifications such as GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM), OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) or Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE)\nOur Commitment to You:\nAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.\nResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s security\nCutting-edge technology and projects\nCompetitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs (including on-site gym), employee resource and social groups, and more\nSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits\nWorkplace Options:\nThis position is a fully on-site position with no possibility for remote work.
