Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an entry level Finance Analyst - 36-month Rotation Program. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.\nAs a Finance Analyst in our 36-month Rotation Program you will be given the opportunity to build relationships with the senior finance leadership team and will complete three developmental rotations over a 36-month period through Internal Controls, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Analysis and Rates and Billlling team.\nSome of the opportunities you will have to use and grow your skills as a Finance Analyst include:\nProviding complete financial analysis support and control\nPreparing and reviewing balance sheet and P&L data for senior management\nAssisting with the development of company operating plan and forecast updates\n\nMonitoring actual results compared to plan/forecast and identifying variances\nPreparing and presenting summary financial status reports to management and customers\nPerforming month-end and quarter-end close activities\nAssisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements to GD Corporate office\nExamining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control\nPerforming assigned audits in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing to include performing fieldwork testing, preparing work papers and reporting audit findings and recommendations for process improvements to management\nConducting entrance and exit conferences for audits\nUpdating desk manuals, policies, and procedures to improve internal controls and compliance systems\nAnalyzing actual department costs, rate performance, and researching charges to assist in controlling costs and meet budgeted targets\nPrepare firm-fixed-price, cost-plus and commercial invoices\nMonitor and track accounts receivable\nReview, track and maintain billing information, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations\nKnowledge Skills and Abilities:\nGeneral knowledge of internal General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Billing functions\nGeneral knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles\nSolid computer skills including MSExcel, MSWord, and MSPowerPoint\nGeneral knowledge of PowerBI and a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts and their applications in financial analysis\nDeveloping analytical skills including ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accounts\nGeneral knowledge of General Dynamics Systems and policies, Government Accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Earned Value Management System\nGeneral knowledge of revenue recognition concepts and accounting for Government contracts\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nTeam process skills\nInterpersonal skills\nPreferred Experience:\nApplicants must exemplify excellent analytical and risk management skills and demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, and an interest in advancing the business and their careers. \nMust be able to travel 10% of the time.\nExperience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.\nKnowledge of finance technology, automation tools, data analytics, Python or robotic process automation\nAbility to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation\nMust be capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
