Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nWe are hiring for a NITSS Deputy Program Manager, Engineering (DPME).\nTechnical Coordination\nCoordinate engineering activities across multi-disciplinary functional teams including systems engineering, integration, and test.\nDirect day-to-day work priorities across assigned engineering functions, working in close coordination with the technical lead and program manager.\nLead engineering change control processes, ensuring technical changes are evaluated, documented, and communicated across the team and to external stakeholders.\nMaintain visibility into technical risks and ensure mitigations are tracked, assigned, and executed.\nDrive cross-site coordination between Manassas and Chesapeake to ensure program continuity and a unified team approach.\nIdentifies and pursues opportunities to leverage AI tools to improve engineering workflows, development processes, and program efficiency; supports the program’s effort to integrate AI capabilities into production deliverables.\nProgram Execution\nMaintain the engineering schedule and track commitments across development, integration, test, and delivery milestones.\nMonitor budget performance for engineering activities as needed and surface variances to the Program Manager.\nDevelop and maintain engineering plans, including release plans, integration schedules, and deployment coordination across multiple baselines including hosted infrastructure ashore, non-hosted, laptop, afloat, and cloud environments.\nEnsure all project deliverables - including documentation - are developed with high quality and delivered on schedule.\nIdentify and resolve execution issues.\nIdentify, develop, analyze, and report engineering project performance measures.\nSupport configuration and change management processes across the program lifecycle.\nBased on the small team size, performing other technical tasks as needed.\nConduct lessons learned reviews after each major delivery to drive continuous improvement and ensure action completion.\nServe as Deputy Program Manager for the Program Manager on engineering matters as needed.\nStakeholder Engagement\nServe as the primary engineering interface with the government systems engineering team and ISEA organization for technical reviews, IPTs, and day-to-day project and deliverable coordination.\nRepresent engineering commitments, schedule status, and technical plans at internal and external program reviews and customer engagements.\nCoordinate with subcontractors, supply chain management, and external stakeholders on technical priorities, interface requirements, and delivery expectations.\nAuthor and review engineering plans, schedules, and correspondence in support of government technical interactions.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience coordinating work across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.\nFamiliarity with systems integration processes and multi-system interface management.\nExperience participating in or supporting formal technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, test readiness reviews, deployment reviews).\nDemonstrated ability to maintain schedules and manage technical change in a complex program environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with GDMS leadership and customers.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in a DoD or Navy program environment, ideally in Navy undersea warfare, ASW C2, or related Navy networked systems programs.\nFamiliarity with Navy ISEA or SYSCOM systems engineering processes.\nBackground in networking, infrastructure, or software systems integration in classified environments.\nExperience managing engineering schedules and technical change control in a multi-site program.\nActive Secret security clearance.\nOur Commitment to You:\nAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.\nResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s security\nFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)\nCompetitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and more\nSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits\nWorkplace Options: This position is onsite.While on-site, you will be a part of the Manassas, VA location.\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
