Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nAs a Senior Deputy PM Engineer, you’ll plan, authorize and monitor engineering work by managing a team of top talent. You’ll ensure that the total system is integrated, tested and verified while keeping your team motivated and focused on project goals. It’s an exceptional challenge and for a true leader, it’s an equally exceptional opportunity.\nDuties and Tasks:\nPlans, authorizes, and monitors the engineering work (including providing strong leadership to ensure all events occur as planned)\nStaffs the project team (along with SEM and maybe Director of Engineering) with the appropriate engineering personnel\nFosters cross-functional collaboration and builds project consensus\nMay be responsible for some of the following: performance, cost, scope and schedule for all engineering efforts (including efforts that are subcontracted)\nEnsures that total system requirements are validated\nEnsures that total system is integrated, tested and verified\nEnsures all project deliverables (including documentation) are developed with high quality and delivered on time\nDevelops and maintains engineering plans as required by the project\nManages the engineering related risks and opportunities of the project\nAssists with developing and managing the project change management process\nEnsures that all engineering processes to be used adhere to established engineering practices\nManages engineering resources (e.g. staff assignments, capital equipment, etc.), organizational interfaces, and engineering scope\nIdentifies, develops, analyzes, and reports engineering project measures\nConducts monthly engineering status reviews and provides material for the monthly program reviews\nImplements effective corrective actions as required\nManages the resolution of technical issues and ensures that they are communicated and resolved.\nConducts lessons learned after each major phase of the project\nScope of projects are usually small to medium and/or have small to medium engineering teams or may assist a DPME running a larger program.\nHelps provide a clear understanding of project goals\nEnsures that team members are rewarded for their contributions\nMay provide performance feedback and management for the project team\nTakes immediate & decisive action in dealing with technical & performance issues\nLeads small proposals and ECPs with identification of cross business unit strengths and technical shortcomings\nAssists in ROM development\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nProven organizational and time management skills\nProven communication skills\nStrong leadership skills\nProven team building and motivation skills\nProven conflict resolution and negotiation skills\nProven problem-solving skills in complex environments\nRecognized internally as fully proficient in project management\nFully proficient ability to apply or develop highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts\nStrong understanding of company policies and practices\nStrong understanding of engineering processes and practices\nStrong proficiency at planning and organization skills\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of tools and Microsoft Project\nStrong knowledge of various project life cycles including agile\nStrong proficiency with communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions\nStrong ability to easily and effectively communicate project topics to a diverse audience\nStrong ability to clearly report relevant information\nStrong ability to understand and apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls for complex programs\nStrong ability to anticipate technology, process, and skill needs\nDemonstrates proactive leadership and has name recognition throughout the business unit\nCreates an environment in which impact of technology on the business is clearly recognized\nIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
