And it’s waiting for you now.We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.\n** THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION**\nAs a Quality CMM Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that all machined parts meet stringent quality and precision standards. This role requires a strong understanding of metrology, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The Quality CMM Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nOperate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements of machined parts\nProgram CMM machines using appropriate software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)\nInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirements\nConduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify product compliance\nDocument and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances\nCollaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues\nMaintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability\nAssist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency\nEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nBasic knowledge of CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)\nUnderstanding of metrology, engineering drawings, and GD&T\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills\nRequires minimal supervision and can work as part of a team\nStrong communication and documentation skills\nKnowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards is a plus\nOur Commitment to You:\nAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning a development\nResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s security\nFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)\nCompetitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health and wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and more\nSee more at com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits\nWorkplace Options:\nThis position is fully on-site\nWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL facility\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
