Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\nResponsibilities for this Position\nDuties and Tasks:\nProvides leadership in defining technology, tool and process strategy across a technical domain\nOverall responsibility for the engineering aspects of a technical domain, to include the acquisition of critical resources\nDirects, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering efforts within area of responsibility\nCapable of identifying project risks, assessing issues and developing resolutions that meet cost, schedule productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives\nReview’s status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports\nDevelops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders\nServes as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management\nSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function\nHandles personnel issues within area of responsibility including merit planning, performance reviews and disciplinary actions\nParticipates in development of technical strategies and teaming strategies in technical domain\nParticipates in the proposal process, including the development of executable project plans on proposals\nEnsures process compliance of all engineering activity in area of responsibility\nLeads specific process improvement activities\nDetermines and implements the organizational training needs in accordance with the requirements of the technical domain\nEnsures that domain engineers are active in developing risk mitigation plans and managing their risk profiles\nMay have budget responsibilities\nFrequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and employees\nCommunicates regularly with project customer, and suppliers, project team, and internal management\nRegular contact with all other personnel in area of responsibility\nReceives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals\nProvides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies\nRecommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)\nExpected to manage work, set objectives and meet commitments for self and others\nDelegates assignments to others for developing solutions\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong leadership skills\nApplies or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts\nStrong written and verbal communications skills, bridges communication across teams\nStrong ability to think creatively\nStrong ability to multi-task, skilled at executing complex tasks\nStrong ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions\nStrong ability to understand and apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM)\nStrong experience in driving continuous improvement in Engineering process and tools\nWorks collaboratively with resources external to the functional or program team\nResponsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for a moderately complex function, program or program scope\nExpected to integrate complex activities\nStrong proficiency at all responsibilities associated with the position\nStrong ability to recruit, manage and retain people\nTypically has strong experience in this area of expertise\nUnderstands, evaluates and guides the focus of all activities in a technical domain\nRecognized internally and externally as an expert in their field\nDemonstrates consistently high ratings on People Commitments\nTravel may be required\nErroneous decisions or recommendations may have long-term effects and may affect the image of the company’s capability\nIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation\nSalary Note\nThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
