We invite you to apply to join our team of employees who are dedicated to excellence that meet the needs of the warfighters and our customers around the world, day in and day out.Job Summary\nAssembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment | Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairs units or products that have failed to meet requirementsImpact of the Role\nGeneral Profile\nRequires skills developed through formal training or work experience\nWorks within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach\nCompletes assigned tasks with a moderate degree of supervision\nPerforms manual tasks according to established procedures\nEssential Functions\nOperates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures. \nUses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. \nTests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards. \nMay repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels. \nKeeps daily assembly production records. \nMaintains a clean and organized work environment. \nRequired Qualifications\nRequired education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience\nOther: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required\nPreferred Qualifications\nPreferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree\n Knowledge, skills & abilities: Assembly. Calibration. Component installation. Soldering. Troubleshooting. Functional testing. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical stamina.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.\nRequires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.\nMust be able to lift up to 45 pounds.\nMay need to stand for long periods of time.\nWork may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.\nMay be requested to work a different shift.\nThis position is Safety-Sensitive.\nTravel Requirements\nNo or very little travel likely._____________________________\nThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
