Every day, your skills will directly impact programs that matter.\n We are looking for Senior Systems Engineering Analysts to join the Headquarters (HQ) Systems Engineering (SE) Team. As a member of the HQ SE team, you will work on the Canadian Armed Forces’ Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance - Targeting (C5ISR-T) program. The C5ISR-T system provides the Armed Forces with a highly integrated tactical system comprised of communication systems such as radios and telephony, core networking systems that connect intelligence and surveillance assets, battle management systems that enable streamlined operations, and information management systems that process large amounts and types of data. The HQ SE team plays a key role in defining detailed design of the C5ISR-T “Headquarters” systems.\nBased in either our Ottawa or Calgary facility, the ideal candidate would undertake a number of different initiatives, including (but not limited to) developing system requirements, modelling the system using MBSE techniques, and contextualizing the operational use cases of the system.\nKey Responsibilities:\nWork with the customer, the Department of National Defence (DND) to elicit and define System requirements and desired capabilities.\nDevelop activity, sequence, use case, and block definition diagrams to describe mission scenarios and use cases.\nDevelop system requirements, interface specifications, and end-to-end information flows.\nManage the traceability of higher-level requirements to lower-level requirements and to test artifacts.\nUtilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to develop Operational and System Views according to DNDAF and UAF.\nSupport testing activities including verification and validation of requirements, reviewing test cases, and producing Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs).\nPresent status updates and conduct reviews with internal and external stakeholders.\nAssume responsibility for deliverables and work products, and ensure you are meeting program commitments and achieving program milestones.\n What You Need to Have to Succeed\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline is required. \n7-10+ years of applicable system engineering or related experience.\nExperience working with complex systems.\nExtensive experience deriving, writing, and linking requirements in a database.\nExperience utilizing MBSE techniques and tools to model complex systems.\nDemonstrated initiative and strong verbal and written communications skills.\nThe ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.\nPassion for mentorship and sharing knowledge.\nDemonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work products.\nKnowledge of the trends in the needs of the military and of the operational context of deployed soldiers\nWhat Makes You Stand Out\nExperience developing cloud-based networks and infrastructure.\nExperience with the automation of server builds and deployment.\nExperience with system security for networks, endpoints, and application/data levels.\nExperience designing virtualization and containerization systems.\nService (Reserve or Regular) in any branch of the Canadian Armed Forces.\nExperience with Agile ceremonies and work execution techniques (Scrum, PI Planning, Story Points, etc.).\nExtensive knowledge of Systems Engineering standards and best practices (such as INCOSE).\nExperience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models\nExperience working with a government customer in a direct or indirect capacity.\nIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
