These positions can be based in Ottawa or Halifax. This team is advancing Canada’s aerospace capabilities by developing software solutions that support mission-critical functions. These systems contribute directly to improving operational effectiveness, situational awareness, and decision-making capabilities.\nSpecific responsibilities will vary depending on the level of the position, but may include:\nPerforming software requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and integration\nWriting and reviewing software design documentation, test plans, and procedures\nDeveloping high-quality, maintainable code while adhering to project and coding standards\nParticipating in code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives\nTroubleshooting and resolving software issues, including root cause analysis and verification of fixes\nCollaborating with cross-functional teams to support system design, integration, and validation\nProviding technical support to internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle\nPresenting technical content at design reviews and team meeting\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/scientific discipline\nMinimum 5 years of experience, preferred 10+ years \nRelevant experience with software development projects\nProficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Java, C/C++, Ada)\nExperience with Agile software development, object-oriented design tools\nFamiliarity with Linux as a host environment and software version control systems\nStrong communication, problem-solving, and analysis skills\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision\nPositive approach to learning, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for taking ownership of work\nExperience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.\nIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.\n The hiring range for this position is $90,000-$140,000.
