Every day, your skills will directly impact programs that matter.\n We’re looking for Systems Engineering Analyst to join our Systems of Systems (SoS) team and help design and evolve complex, mission-critical technology for the Canadian Armed Forces. As part of the LC5ISR-T (Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance - Targeting) program, you’ll work across multiple engineering disciplines to help bring together communications systems, tactical radios and telephony, core networks, intelligence and surveillance assets, battle management systems, and information management capabilities. You’ll help define how these systems interact, communicate, and operate together as one integrated capability.\nBased in either our Ottawa or Calgary facility, the ideal candidate would undertake a number of different initiatives, including (but not limited to) developing system requirements, modelling the system using MBSE techniques, and contextualizing the operational use cases of the system.\nKey Responsibilities include:\nDevelop activity, sequence, use case, and block definition diagrams to describe mission scenarios and use cases;\nDevelop system requirements, interface specifications, and end-to-end information flows;\nManage the traceability of higher-level requirements to lower-level requirements and to test artifacts;\nUtilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to develop Operational and System Views according to DNDAF and UAF;\nSupport testing activities including verification and validation of requirements;\nPresent status updates and conduct reviews with internal and external stakeholders; and\nAssume responsibility for deliverables and work products, and ensure program commitments and achieving program milestones are met.\nWork with the customer, the Department of National Defence (DND) to elicit and define System requirements and desired capabilities\n What You Need to Have to Succeed includes:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline is required;\n5+ years of applicable system engineering or related experience;\nExperience working with complex systems;\nExtensive experience deriving, writing, and linking requirements in a database;\nExperience utilizing MBSE techniques and tools to model complex systems;\nDemonstrated initiative and strong verbal and written communications skills;\nThe ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment;\nPassion for mentorship and sharing knowledge;\nDemonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work products; and\nKnowledge of the trends in the needs of the military and of the operational context of deployed soldiers.\nExperience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.\nIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
