Trusted by market leaders including Bloomberg, BP, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Two Sigma, BASF, Rio Tinto, Wood Mackenzie, and ADNOC, we’re providing the next generation of benchmark data for trading and analysis.\nAbout you\nRequired experience:Five or more years working with commodity, financial or other complex data.\nStrong Python and SQL experience, including complex queries.\nHands-on experience with agentic AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex).\nExperience building or maintaining data pipelines and automated processes.\nExperience taking projects from requirements to delivery.\nExperience reviewing others' work and giving useful technical feedback.\nA real interest in using AI in your work.\nStrong numerical and problem-solving skills, and close attention to detail.\nClear communication, including explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues and working with global teams.\nPreferred experience:A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related subject.\nKnowledge of commodity markets, and the ability to learn price assessment methods quickly.\nExperience managing, mentoring or supporting junior team members. \nAbout the role\nYou will join the Data team, part of our Product team, and work closely with data colleagues in our other regions. You will lead data projects from requirements to release, support the Index team's daily price assessments, and help develop other analysts.Key responsibilities:\nDeliver data projects, from specification to release\nOwn data projects and epics: agree requirements and scope with stakeholders, choose the technical approach, and deliver on time.\nWrite clear, testable specifications before work starts, covering requirements, acceptance criteria and edge cases.\nBuild pipelines in our core system, using Python and SQL to bring new trade and pricing data into our standard format.\nAdd new datasets, learning what the market data means and building the processes that clean and validate it.\nAutomate existing pipelines and recurring tasks, and build new tools as the business grows.\nQuality and operational supportProvide operational and QA support for daily assessment processes, and help fix operational issues.\nReview and QA other analysts' work, and check that code and data, whether a person or an AI built them, meet the specification before release.\nRun regular code and pipeline reviews, and help the team follow best practice.\nFind better ways of working to make the Data team faster and more reliable.\nWork closely with the Index teamAct as the link between the Index and Data teams, turning methodology requirements into technical solutions.\nHelp develop the assessment algorithms behind new and existing benchmarks.\nBe the team's go-to person on commodity trading, market data and price assessment.\n Develop the teamMentor Data Analysts and help them with day-to-day work and harder problems.\nHelp train new analysts, and keep training materials and documentation up to date.\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive base salary.\nPrivate health and dental insurance.\n401k plan.\nMentoring from experienced colleagues.\nStructured development, with a track record of internal promotion.\nA positive, high-energy culture.\nPlease note that this role is full time and based in Houston, TX, and would require you to be in the office Monday to Thursday.
