You'll collaborate with experienced engineers to support licensing actions, regulatory submissions, and engagement with regulatory authorities for a nuclear fuel cycle facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate eager to contribute to high-reliability, highly regulated nuclear facility work.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the preparation and review of licensing documents, including licensing applications, regulatory reports, amendment requests, and license renewal applications, in compliance with NRC requirements.\nAssist in communication with regulatory agencies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and help track timely resolution of inquiries.\nSupport the development and implementation of strategies to obtain and maintain licenses for new and existing nuclear facilities and projects.\nPerform technical evaluations under the guidance of senior engineers to help ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., 10 CFR).\nHelp monitor changes to nuclear regulations and assess their impact on operations and licensing.\nSupport safety analyses, environmental reports, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.\nWork on documentation and technical writing to support licensing submissions and regulatory correspondence.\nCollaborate with engineering, operations, legal, and environmental teams to help address licensing requirements and resolve regulatory issues.\nParticipate in inspections, audits, and regulatory meetings alongside senior team members.\nEffectively communicate technical ideas within multidisciplinary project teams.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (recent graduate or upcoming).\nCoursework in nuclear engineering fundamentals, reactor physics, or fuel cycle systems.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation.\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to communicate technical information clearly and collaboratively across disciplines.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nInternship experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, or a related technical role, especially projects involving nuclear or highly regulated facilitiesGeneral familiarity with NRC regulations, including 10 CFR and related industry standards (e.g., ANSI, ASME).\n\nEvidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc.).\nFamiliarity with nuclear facility operations and safety analyses.\nExposure to interacting with regulatory agencies, such as the NRC.\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe base salary range for this role is $90,000-$105,000 annually.\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors.
