If you seek high impact and are excited by fast-paced, intense, Skunkworks-style projects, we encourage you to apply to join our team.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the onboarding and offboarding experience end-to-end, from offer acceptance through first-week ramp and, when needed, exit logistics\nAdminister employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and day-to-day employee questions\nMaintain accurate, up-to-date employee records in our HRIS, ensuring data integrity across systems\nPlan and execute company events and culture initiatives, managing logistics from budget to execution\nServe as a first point of contact for employee questions, exercising sound judgment with confidential and sensitive information\nIdentify gaps in existing People Ops processes and build or improve them - this role has real latitude to fix what's broken\nSupport compliance-related recordkeeping and documentation as our team scales\nPartner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Finance, and department leads to keep People processes running smoothly amid multiple, competing priorities\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree \n1+ years of administrative experience, including internships or part-time work\nProficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)\nHighly organized, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines\nComfort handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nPrior experience with an HRIS platform (e.g., Rippling)\nExperience in a startup or other fast-paced, resource-constrained environment\nProject management experience or exposure to process improvement work\nExperience navigating ambiguity and building process from scratch\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe hourly rate for this role is $32.00 to $40.00/hr\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors.
