You'll play a critical role keeping a fast-moving engineering org aligned, unblocked, and focused as General Matter works to build a domestic supply of enriched uranium and secure America's energy future. This role requires exceptional initiative, structured thinking, and communication skills - you'll turn ambiguity into clear plans, design the processes that let an engineering org scale, and ramp quickly on technical and regulatory subject matter. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and operates independently with limited direction. \nResponsibilities \nOwn critical-path program visibility and turn noisy status into clear, leadership-ready updates. \nAct as thought partner to an engineering leader, unblocking them to spend their time on the highest-value items. \nBuild and maintain schedules, trackers, dashboards, and executive briefings. \nDesign, run, and improve core engineering processes - design reviews, review cadences, and reporting workflows. \nStandardize team workflows (status collection, drafting and routing, decision logs) into a repeatable operating rhythm. \nTrack priorities, dependencies, and follow-ups so nothing slips. \nPartner across Engineering, Operations, Legal, Communications, and Security to keep initiatives aligned. \nSurface risks and execution gaps and drive them to resolution. \nBasic Qualifications \n5+ years of experience in private equity/venture capital, management consulting, operations, or a related field. \nExceptional structured thinking and the ability to create order out of ambiguity. \nExcellent written and verbal communication with strong synthesis ability. \nStrong organizational and execution skills across multiple concurrent priorities. \nAbility to ramp quickly on technical and regulatory subject matter. \nHigh ownership and bias to action. \nBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). \nU.S. citizenship (required for export-controlled and national-security-systems work). \nPreferred Skills and Experience \nA track record of designing and improving operational processes and operating rhythms. \nExperience working in startup or high-growth environments. \nFluency with program management tooling and workstream management. \nAbility to manage sensitive, high-visibility work with professionalism and discretion. \nAdditional Requirements \nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary. \nEqual Opportunity Employer \nGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status. \nCompensation and Benefits \nThe base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $180,000 annually. \nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors.
