Reliable, low-cost enrichment is the catalyst for the nuclear Renaissance now under way.\nOur mission is to make nuclear not only the cleanest and safest source of baseload power, but also the most affordable. We believe abundant nuclear energy will lead to a post-scarcity society. \nWe were incubated inside Founders Fund, like Anduril and Palantir before us, and are backed by over a dozen of the world's top venture capital firms. \nOur lean, world-class team of engineers and operators is applying a first-principles approach to solving the problem of nuclear fuel production. \nWe are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency. \nHelp us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable. \nAbout This Role\nAs a General Matter Information Technology Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the IT systems, infrastructure, and end-user services that keep a highly regulated, mission-critical environment running. You will work alongside experienced IT and security staff on real projects spanning systems administration, network support, endpoint management, and IT compliance. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, chemical engineers, manufacturing engineers, nuclear engineers, materials scientists, and physicists. This is an opportunity to gain meaningful experience supporting the technology backbone of a company advancing domestic nuclear fuel production.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with day-to-day IT support, including hardware/software troubleshooting, account provisioning, and helpdesk ticket resolution.\nSupport the administration and maintenance of endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure, including patching, backups, and asset tracking.\nHelp implement and validate IT security controls (e.g., MFA, endpoint protection, access management) under the guidance of the IT and security teams.\nSupport user access reviews, system health checks, and IT policy compliance activities.\nContribute to internal documentation, including setup guides, runbooks, and IT knowledge base articles.\nAssist with onboarding/offboarding workflows, equipment deployment, and conference room / office technology support.\nParticipate in IT projects such as software rollouts, systems migrations, and process automation.\nSupport audit and compliance readiness efforts by organizing documentation and assisting with internal IT reviews.\nBasic Qualifications\nCurrent undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.\nFoundational understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT operations.\nStrong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.\nCollaborative team member who thrives in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments and is eager to learn.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nFamiliarity with IT service management tools, ticketing systems, or asset management platforms.\nExposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell).\nCoursework or project experience with systems administration, networking, or cloud platforms.\nFamiliarity with basic security principles such as authentication, access control, and endpoint protection.\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe hourly pay range for this internship is $28-$36 per hour, depending on the candidate's current standing in school (i.e. sophomore, senior).\nInterns will receive a monthly housing stipend and are eligible for overtime pay. Please note that the stated hourly range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4791,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Nuclear Energy","Nuclear Engineering"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-05T23:05:37Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":55,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.608,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":22,"expected_fill_days":49,"reasons":["conf:3","stale_co","velocity","win:mid","comp:junior,brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-28T05:59:10Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":72000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/general-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/general-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-28T06:30:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":8643,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-29T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":171806},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=171806"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fgeneral-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fgeneral-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fgeneral-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/general-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fgeneral-matter-summer-2027-internship-information-technology"}]}
