We create and maintain the infrastructure and standards to support rapid hardware development. \nAbout This Role \nAs a Test Technician, you execute hardware test operations - setting up, instrumenting, running, and tearing down tests on the team's test stands. You are the hands on the hardware during a test campaign: you make the setup real, run the test to procedure, and troubleshoot when issues arise. Your primary output is test setup and execution; you'll also support build and assembly when the campaign needs it. \nResponsibilities \nSet up test articles, fixtures, and stands for mechanical, structural, thermal, fluid, and vacuum testing per defined procedures \nInstall and route instrumentation - strain gauges, thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, load cells, accelerometers. Connect to data acquisition systems per defined configurations \nOperate test equipment and DAQ systems \nExecute test procedures and accurately record results \nOperate fluid systems for proof, leak, and functional tests \nTroubleshoot hardware, instrumentation, and test setups; identify off-nominal behavior and help engineering drive to root cause \nMaintain and calibrate test equipment; track calibration schedules; perform preventive maintenance \nSupport post-test inspection, data hand-off, and test article teardown \nMaintain a safe, organized, FOD-controlled test area; follow lockout/tagout and pressure-system safety practices \nSupport fabrication of fixtures and test setups as needed \nBasic Qualifications \nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate \n4+ years of hands-on test, integration, or hardware experience in aerospace, hard tech, automotive, industrial, or military environments \nAbility to read and execute test procedures, engineering drawings, and fluid/electrical schematics \nHands-on experience installing instrumentation and using electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, DAQ) \nHardware troubleshooting ability \nComfort in a fast-paced development environment; safety-first mindset \nPreferred Skills and Experience \nLight fabrication experience - tube bending, harnessing, precision mechanical assembly \nVacuum systems experience \nExposure to test conductor / console operations \nRadiation / HazOps experience \nAdditional Requirements\nPhysical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted.\nMust be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and/or weekends as needed.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.\nCompensation and Benefits\nPay range:\n$30.00-$60.00/hour\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
