Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes (cookies, brownies, muffins, pizza crust, biscuits). We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with. Fun facts about Avon are that we produce an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour a day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches a year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2000 pounds of chocolate is added per hour to the packaging line!\nWhat We Have to Offer\nPay Rate: $33.68 per hour \nAdditional $.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift\nPremium pay opportunities, including overtime after 8 hours (1.5x), Saturday hours (1.5x), and Sunday hours (2x/double time)\nGreat paid time off benefits (includes vacation, sick time and holidays)\n401(k) with company match\nPension\nBonus Incentive Program\nHealth Insurance (includes medical, dental, vision and life)\nCareer growth and cross-training opportunities\nYour Work Schedule and Shift Information\n8-hour shifts2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm\n3rd shift: 11:00 pm to 7:00 am\n\nCurrently hiring for 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift dependent upon business need\n Training will be on 1st shift (7 am to 3 pm) for up to 6 months (possibly sooner, dependent upon training needs) and then transfer to assigned shift\nAbility and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, holidays, an occasional Saturday and/or Sunday, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift, when business need dictates\nPlant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:\nPerform preventive and reactive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment to improve reliability and operational performance\nUnderstand and follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment\nInstall, maintain, repair, and replace industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment\nIdentify/diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, electrical and/or electronic issues\nManage work orders, parts requisition, and data entry through understanding and use of Maximo Maintenance Management System\nProvide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modification\nUnderstand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)\nPerform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance\nEffectively communicate and productively interact with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors, vendors, visitors, etc.\nParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance\nAssist in training new employees\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or GED\nMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)\n1 to 2 years (minimum) of experience industrial maintenance or related industry experience\nWorking knowledge of PLC’s, HVAC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems\nAbility to work independently and as a team with flexibility to quickly shift work priorities\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods\nWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions\nAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms\nAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards\nAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)\nAbility to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience in repairing and troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and using electrical testing equipment strongly preferred\nBasic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferred\nExperience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred\n\nELIGIBILITY\nApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.\n\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER (EOE)\nGeneral Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
