- $.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts

At our Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb. bags of flour that are distributed to restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, schools, as well as Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes. We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with. Fun facts about Avon are that we produce an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour a day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches a year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2000 pounds of chocolate is added per hour to the packaging line!

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information
- 8-hour shifts (Monday through Friday)
- 2nd Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
- 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am
- Regular Monday through Friday schedule; weekend work may be required to support business needs
- Currently hiring for 2nd and/or 3rd shift (dependent upon business need)
- Dependent upon business need, this position may require the ability to work 6 and/or 7 days per week (more information provided during interview)
Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift (when needed)Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As part of our manufacturing team, you will:
- Be responsible for packaging and processing operations
- Be responsible for maintaining inventory, lot tracking, product rate transfer and required documentation of flour ingredients/additives
- Monitor and maintain systems to maximize operational performance and equipment efficiency
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment
- Perform sanitation, cleaning and maintaining all areas of mill
- Participate in startup, changeover, and shut down of operating equipment
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
- Assist in training new employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Mechanical and/or technical experience in a manufacturing or related industry
- Prior milling experience is strongly preferred
- Basic computer skills with the ability to use digital tools and systems to complete daily work tasks
- Must possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods
- Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards
- Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)
- Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens
