The role focuses on enabling reporting, visualization, conversational analytics, and AI-driven insights with strong adoption, quality, and governance.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\n1) Business Intelligence and AI for BI capabilities\nDesign, develop, test, automate, and launch BI, conversational analytics, and AI-driven summarization solutions using Tableau, Looker, BigQuery, and related tools.\nBuild technical architectures, semantic models, prototypes, and governed data experiences for trusted natural-language querying, dashboard summarization, and scalable decision support.\nLead design, code, model, and process reviews to ensure compliance with enterprise standards, AI governance, approved extensions, and performance best practices.\nDrive end-to-end delivery across discovery, requirements gathering, estimation, solution design, development, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live monitoring.\nDefine business terms, metadata, reference questions, and testing assets to improve the accuracy, trust, and repeatability of AI-enabled BI outputs.\nPartner with technical teams to optimize data models, granularity, labels, and performance, with a focus on scalable star-schema-based designs.\nEstablish validation processes including training sets, golden queries, user testing, and accuracy thresholds to support production-ready AI for BI capabilities.\nTranslate business needs into governed BI, NLQ, and AI summarization use cases with clear success measures and business value.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, BI leadership, and governance groups to shape requirements, prioritize initiatives, and recommend best practices.\nLead workshops, pilot testing, feedback loops, issue triage, and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen usability, trust, adoption, and solution quality.\n 2) Business Intelligence (Semantic Layer)\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Looker semantic layers using advanced LookML for trusted self-service analytics\nBuild and optimize complex SQL queries in BigQuery to support data models, semantic layers, and business analysis\nTranslate business requirements into intuitive data models and LookML structures using star and snowflake schema principles\nIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks across LookML models, Explores, and BigQuery queries to improve user experience\nImplement data governance, semantic consistency, access controls, and security within the Looker semantic layer\nDrive Git-based development, code reviews, change management, and CI/CD practices for reliable BI deployments\nLead technical design discussions and code reviews to ensure architecture, data quality, and performance standards\nPartner with product teams and business stakeholders to shape requirements and deliver analytical solutions\nCommunicate technical concepts, design trade-offs, and solution impacts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences\nContribute to strategic decisions, best practices, and data-driven insights that strengthen the analytics ecosystem\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (full time) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.\n\nExperience: 8+ years of total experience with 6+ years of relevant experience designing and delivering BI and analytics solutions for business stakeholders.\n\nExpert-level skills in Tableau, SQL, Google Looker, Python, and BigQuery.\n\nDemonstrated experience building governed analytics products, semantic models, and scalable reporting solutions that support self-service analytics and decision-making.\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to translate business requests into technical requirements and explain trade-offs across tools, data models, governance, and architecture options.\n\nStrong knowledge of dimensional modelling, metadata management, data governance, data warehousing, and enterprise data platforms.\n\nProven ability to influence without authority and to partner effectively with business leaders, technical teams, and governance stakeholders to deliver high-value solutions.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nThought-driven leadership to successfully deliver scalable team management and business solutions.\n\nKnowledge of at least one other programming language such as Python is a plus.\n\nTake the initiative to do the right thing - doesn't walk past a problem.\n\nConsultant mindset - able to challenge with courage and influence upwards and with peers.
