Located on Buffalo’s waterfront, it offers easy access to Canada and major cities like Toronto and New York City, and supports career growth through seniority-based bidding and apprenticeship programs. The plant also builds community through events like a summer barbecue, a family picnic at a local amusement park, and a holiday dinner for all three shifts served by leadership. Employees take pride in the plant’s strong family ties, and notable history includes its former name, Cheeri-Oats, grain transport by boat, and a fire the day before it opened in 1940.\nWhat We Have to Offer\n $23.84 per hour for 36 months of employment (90% of full rate of pay)\n$26.49 per hour after 36 months of employment (100% of full rate of pay)\nShift DifferentialAdditional $.34 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift\n\nOvertime payTime worked after 8 hours of work is paid at 1.5 times regular rate of pay\nTime worked on Saturday is paid at 1.5 times regular rate of pay after the 6th day of work\nTime worked on Sunday is paid at 2 times (double pay) regular rate of pay\n\nUp to 120 hours (15 days) vacation annually (depending on schedule) \n11 paid company holidays \n401(k) with company match \nMedical, dental, life insurance \nCareer growth and cross-training opportunities \nYour Work Schedule and Shift Information\n8-hour swing shift schedule rotation every week1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm\n2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm\n3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am \n\nMust be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed \nPlant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. \nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:\nFollow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment\nIssue parts to maintenance personnel on request in an efficient manner.\nMaintain storeroom security.\nIssue parts immediately in the Maximo system.\nUnpack, sort, arrange and place inventoried items in proper location. Clerk will make sure items are tagged with the proper GMI P/N.\nResponsible for reorganization of the storeroom, and the bar coding of all items in the storeroom. Each clerk will be assigned a designated area of the storeroom to organize and maintain.\nKeep storeroom organized, clean, and safe.\nAid in identification of slow moving, obsolete, and substandard inventory.\nTrack and communicate inventory shortage situations to the Buyer or Storeroom Manager.\nCycle count “X” amount of items and enter the data into the current inventory system. Investigate significant stock adjustments.\nInventory free-stock items, ex. Conduit, sheet metal, angle iron, etc.\nHandle emergency orders.\nAssist the Receiving Clerk.\nAttend Plant Wide Communication Meetings and Safety Meetings as required.\nPerform other functions for an efficient storeroom operation as assigned by the Storeroom Manager.\nAttend meetings and training courses as required\nPerform additional related tasks as assigned\nAssist other plant areas as assigned \nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or GED \n1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment\nProficiency in basic computer skills\nAbility to work 8-hour Swing shifts \nMust be willing to work any shift, including weekends/holidays as even once assigned a shift, you may get moved around depending on openings/seniority.\nMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English) \nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs \nAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods \nWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions \nAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms \nAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards \nAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required) \nAbility to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens \nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nManufacturing or production experience \nDemonstrated leadership ability\n\nELIGIBILITY\nApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.\n\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER (EOE)\nGeneral Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
