The Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator role exists to serve as the plant-level leader accountable for Software Defined Vehicle and Vehicle as a Tester (SDV/VaaT) electrical launch readiness, ensuring manufacturing processes are safe, stable, and repeatable so the plant consistently achieves its quality targets across all vehicle launch phases. By leading the plant launch electrical team and driving execution from early readiness through production ramp-up, the role directly protects product quality, customer satisfaction, and business profitability.\nHow does this role make an impact?\nThis role leads the plant SDV/VaaT Launch Electrical Team backed by AMEC preparation to align cross-functional stakeholders, execute the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) and launch plan, achieve the 99.9% Electrical First Time Quality (EFTQ) glidepath, and develop data visibility tools and dashboards that support timely, fact-based decision-making across the organization.\nWhat You’ll Do (Responsibilities)\nComplete mandatory training requirements, including Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) and supplier certifications, prior to MVB (travel is required in this role).\nLead electrical launch execution from virtual assessments through SORP, ensuring plant readiness, milestone compliance, and successful program delivery. \nDrive early vehicle integration activities including architecture reviews, feasibility assessments, wiring harness evaluations, and launch build support. \nOwn electrical launch governance through risk management, issue escalation, recovery planning, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment. \nEstablish clear team operating rhythms, role ownership, and issue resolution processes to support efficient launch execution. \nDevelop and leverage dashboards, production metrics, and quality data to drive data-based business decisions and performance improvement.\nEnsure tester readiness, software traceability, configuration control, and change management compliance across all electrical systems.\nUtilize plant quality systems, warranty data, GCA results, and tester performance to identify and eliminate process and product variation.\nDrive electrical, software, wiring, module, and testing concerns to closure while ensuring robust containment and recovery plans for launch risks.\nCommunicate electrical readiness, EFTQ performance, tester results, and launch status through leadership reviews, program gates, and operational forums. \nLead continuous improvement, capture lessons learned, transfer best practices across GM facilities, and support transition to steady-state operations.\nYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nBachelors degree or equivalent experience\nExperience with vehicle electrical architecture\nData-Driven Performance Analytics\n5+ years of manufacturing launch experience\nProven experience managing large teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.\nAbility and willingness to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)\nAbility and willingness to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed\nProficiency in lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.\nExperience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Project, Word, PowerPoint), and analytical or business software.\nStrong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities with a track record of implementing process improvements.\nFamiliarity with automotive manufacturing standards, regulations, and best practices.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nAbility to travel 50% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and/or internationally.\nWhat Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)\n3+ years Experience with vehicle electrical architecture\n7+ years of manufacturing launch experience\n3+ years of Automotive Manufcaturing Launch Experience\nCompletion of all required Global Manufacturing System (GMS) training.\nPrior experience in automotive manufacturing, production operations, or high-volume industrial environments.\nStrong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, systems, and production technologies.\nSponsorship:\nGM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
