You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative customer facing products that meet customer expectations while satisfying design, performance, manufacturing, safety, regulatory, and warranty requirements.\nJob Responsibilities\nDesign and develop Interior trim and Interior lighting accessories components that meet vehicle, manufacturing, and customer requirements.\nCreate and manage engineering specifications, CAD models, drawings, GD&T, and tolerance analyses.\nLead component delivery from concept through launch and mass production.\nManage engineering changes, deviations, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.\nProvide technical leadership to cross-functional teams and suppliers.\nEnsure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.\nBenchmark competitive designs and identify opportunities for improvement.\nAnalyze warranty and field data, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.\nApply DFMEA, DRBFM, DFSS, and structured problem-solving methods.\nUse CAE and TcVis analyses to validate designs and predict performance.\nTrack engineering data, monitor trends, and drive continuous improvement.\nJob Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\nThree or more years of experience in product development engineering; Interior Trim, exterior trim and/or lighting experience preferred.\nKnowledge of automotive interior, exterior, or lighting systems\nKnowledge of automotive safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.\nExperience with or understanding of DFMEA, DRBFM, DFSS, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.\nStrong technical leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.\nAbility to apply structured problem-solving techniques to design and manufacturing challenges.\nAbility to analyze complex engineering data and make sound technical decisions.\nAbility to learn and apply new technical information quickly.\nStrong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
