This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle-level electrical systems and proficiencyin simulation tools such as Synopsys Saber. The analysisengineer is also required tohave experience inco-simulation and software in the loop (SiL) modeling using tools like Matlab, Simulinkand Simscape. The analysis engineer needs to closely workwith suppliers to get high fidelity 12V componentmodels (e.gbattery, fuses, sensors, electronic control units, power & signal distribution modules, level 3 or 4 ASICs etc).\nThe analysis engineer will create system models, perform simulation, interpretand present simulation results to stakeholders at critical program milestones. Analysis engineer will be required to interact cross functionally with a wide variety of engineering teams (Electrical Architects, Co-simulation teams, Validation, Calibration and Design Release Engineers) to deliver standard work, perform root cause analysis, compare analytical results to tests, identify analytical gaps and lead capability projects to close these gaps.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead effort to develop new analysis capabilities for 12V/48V electrical systems including, but not limited to, developing 12V battery model, 12V distribution model, aggregator modeland other electrical components on the vehicle\n\nDevelop physics-based models for co-sim and software in the loop effortwithin electrical and thermal domains\n\nDevelop vehicle electrical and battery electro-thermal models to support virtual controls for Co-Sim and calibration initiatives\n\nPerform standard analysis to deliver design solutions which are robust and reliable utilizing optimization and statistical methods when appropriate\n\nCollaborate with global analysis engineers to ensure on time delivery of high-quality results\n\nLead and conduct peer reviews of analysis results prior to delivery to the product team\n\nWork collaboratively with Electrical Architects, SiLteams and componenthardware design teams to ensure system requirements are met, design concepts are evaluated, and development and validation plans are successful\n\nCollaborate with other CAE teams to capture and integrate higher fidelity models into electrical system models\n\nSupport critical vehicle program gates with technical reviews (PPDRs, VVAs, Peer Reviews)\n\nYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nBS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Controls engineering\n\n5+ yrs of engineering experience in design, analysis or testing of 12V/48V electrical system or components\n\nProficient in Synopsys Saber simulator, MAST modeling language, and electrical data analysis tools including MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape\n\nSkilled in developing models for Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) simulations\n\nExperience with FMUs (Functional Mockup Unit) and co-simulation\n\nHands-on experience with Charge Balance, Fail-Operational, Bus Integrity, Short Circuit and other 12V/48V Component Sizing simulations\n\nStrong foundationin engineering principles related to electric circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetics, electric drive systems, control systems, and digital signal processing\n\nExperienced in analytical modeling of electric generators, batteries, heating and cooling systems, lighting systems, and electronic controllers\n\nExperience in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) methods\n\nExcellent debugging and troubleshooting capabilities\n\nWhat Will Give You ACompetitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\nM.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics\n\nExperience with development and usage of CAE/CAD tools\n\nKnowledge of Lithium-ion battery cell modeling and simulation Modeling (or other cell chemistries: Lead Acid, etc.).\n\nDFSS Black Belt or higher certification\n\nExperience in designing and implementing GUI (Graphical User Interface) as well as core software for technical applications with schematic interfaces\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
