You will serve as the site electrical subject-matter expert and partner with maintenance, construction, operations, contractors, suppliers, and utility providers.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead electrical safety, Electrical Safe Work Practices, medium-voltage, lockout/energy control, and substation maintenance activities.\nProvide daily technical support to electricians, maintenance teams, construction partners, and plant operations.\nPlan and coordinate maintenance, vendor support, construction activities, and electrical improvement projects.\nOwn electrical safety, machine guarding, and lockout/energy control audit performance, including gap assessments and corrective actions.\nSupport utility reliability, power quality, distribution issues, service interruptions, and root-cause analysis.\nManage assigned projects, suppliers, contractors, budgets, schedules, and Project Delivery Tool requirements.\nDevelop asset sustainment plans and support facility condition assessments.\nMaintain accurate electrical drawings, CADD files, as-built documentation, and project records.\nSupport safety audits, observation tours, site meetings, emergency-light inspections, and other compliance activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nThree or more years of experience with industrial electrical systems.\nExperience with medium-voltage systems, substations, or utility infrastructure.\" needs to be in the Required Qualifications section\nExperience with electrical design, maintenance, operations, and project execution.\nExperience with low-voltage power distribution.\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.\nStrong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage work involving contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFive or more years of Facilities Engineering experience.\nExperience with medium-voltage systems, substations, or utility infrastructure.\nFamiliarity with NFPA 70E and Electrical Safe Work Practices.\nExperience with electrical safety, machine guarding, or lockout/energy control audits.\nExperience managing salaried or hourly personnel.\nProfessional engineering license, certification, or advanced engineering degree.\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
