This role is within the Energy Conversion Management Hardware Organization, specifically in the Traction Inverter Hardware team.\nWe are seeking an experienced PCB designer to join our team as “High Voltage Power Electronics PCB Designer”. This role provides PCB design & layout ownership for Traction Inverter and other high voltage power electronics by working closely with the PCB Design Release Engineering team, Technical Specialists, EMC, Manufacturing and Quality.\nResponsibilities\nPCB Designer will be responsible for developing various PCB layout designs for existing and new inverters, collaborate with PCBA engineers, create PCB layouts, participate in design direction meetings, and create a collaborative environment with internal and external team members.\nResponsible for creating and designing the physical layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This involves placing and routing components, traces, and other elements to ensure proper functionality and performance.\nCreate / lead / verify the layout design by conducting design rule checks (DRC) and design for manufacturability (DFM) checks. This ensures that the design meets the required specifications, constraints, and manufacturing capabilities.\nCreate / collaborate closely with other design teams, such as circuit designers, system engineers, and packaging engineers, to understand design requirements and constraints. They work together to optimize the layout design for performance, power, area, and manufacturability.\nSelect the appropriate technology and process for the layout design based on the project requirements, such as the target application, performance goals, and manufacturing capabilities.\nOptimize the layout design for various factors by working with SI/PI/EMC/Thermal/Mechanical subject matter experts. They ensure that the layout design meets the required performance and reliability criteria.\nDevelop ECAD library parts meeting PCBA Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & GM resiliency requirements.\nCreate drawings for release.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent Industry Experience\nProfessional experience creating and releasing PCBs designs.\nMinimum 4 years working experience in PCB layout design\nExperience in eCAD Xpedtion tool\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious industry experience in automotive power electronics and ECUs.\n6 years or more experience in PCB layout design execution\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
